Hi, I'm Darren. I'm a senior frontend engineer based in Dundee, Scotland, with around 10 years of experience building fast, reliable, user-focused web applications — primarily with React and TypeScript.

I've worked across frontend, full-stack and engineering management roles at small and medium-sized product companies, which has given me a strong mix of hands-on technical depth and an understanding of how teams and products work together. I'm particularly interested in performance optimisation, frontend architecture, and improving engineering quality through testing, tooling and good development practices.

After taking an intentional year-long career break, I'm now looking for my next role as an individual contributor, where I can focus on solving technical problems, building high-quality frontends, and continuing to grow as an engineer. Outside of work, I enjoy investing and financial markets, travelling, playing guitar, learning Japanese, and getting outdoors for walks and hikes.
